Safety On and My Circle are two different features in the same app. Safety On protects a single walk or trip: you start it, choose a guardian, and if you don't check in when expected, Safety On alerts your guardian. My Circle is different — it's ongoing location sharing with people you trust, for everyday reassurance rather than a single trip.
Add a guardian first, so Safety On has someone to alert if you miss a check-in. Then open Safety On and tap Start Safety On to begin. To end your walk at any time, tap Stop.
Open the guardian section in Safety On and add someone you trust before starting a walk. How many guardians you can add per trip depends on your plan — see Plans below.
Safety On asks for "Always" location so it can keep an active walk protected and keep My Circle sharing working even when your phone is locked or the app isn't open on screen. If location is only allowed while using the app, background protection and sharing may not work reliably. How often your location actually updates in the background can vary — it depends on your phone's movement and how iOS or Android schedules background activity, so it isn't a fixed, continuous stream.
Open My Circle, select the circle, and turn off the Share location switch. You can also turn off location permission for Safety On at any time in your phone's system settings.
Every plan includes My Circle. The plans differ in walk protection:
For current pricing, see the Plans section on our homepage or the Plans screen in the app.
On iPhone, open Safety On's Plans screen and tap Restore Purchases. On Android, purchases are tied to your Google account and are recognised automatically when you're signed in with the same account.
Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are managed by Apple or Google, not by Safety On directly. To cancel:
This is how Apple and Google require subscription management to work, so Safety On can't cancel it for you from inside the app.
